Hoy comienzan los actos del Centenario de la Euskal
Etxea de Nueva York (programa definitivo)

La
Euskal Etxea de Nueva York cumple cien años de vida y la celebración de ese
centenario ha convertido a la ciudad estadounidense en centro de la cultura
vasca y de la Diáspora durante esta semana. Hoy mismo, arrancan en la
universidad CUNY las clases de la Cátedra Atxaga, impulsada por el Instituto
Vasco Etxepare y con varios actos abiertos al público general. El jueves tomará
el testigo el seminario sobre Diáspora vasca Euskal Herria Mugaz Gaindi, en su
décima edición, y el fin de semana la fiesta llegará a su apogeo con
conciertos, espectáculos y la celebración de la Gala del Centenario. A
continuación, el programa definitivo de los actos.
Nueva
York, EEUU. Esta semana la cultura vasca tendrá un escenario provilegiado en la
ciudad de Nueva York, donde coinciden una serie de actividades culturales,
sociales y académicas con la celebración del Centenario de la euskal etxea
neoyorquina, el centro vasco más antiguo del país.
Por
un lado, en la City University of New York (CUNY), comienza hoy una nueva
edición de la Cátedra Atxaga, bajo la dirección de la profesora invitada Jasone
Cenoz. Las clases de la cátedra se extenderán hasta el viernes, pero hoy y
pasado habrá dos sesiones abiertas al público y un espectáculo musical. Por
otro lado, el jueves comenzará la décima edición del seminario de emigración y
Diáspora Euskal Herria Mugaz Gaindi; mientras que el fin de semana las
celebraciones llegarán a su auge, con los festejos del Centenario.
